News Gustafer Yellowgold's Mellow Sensation Plays Off-Broadway Engagement at DR2 Singer-songwriter Morgan Taylor's popular children's creation, Gustafer Yellowgold's Mellow Sensation, which began its return engagement at Off-Broadway's DR2 Sept. 20, will continue there through Dec. 6.

The multimedia "musical moving book," which tells of a loveable creature from the sun who befriends some of earth's odder creatures, has gained popularity among children and hipsters alike, being described as a cross between "Yellow Submarine" and "Schoolhouse Rock" with "A Prairie Home Companion."

Gustafer, which features a contemporary folk-rock score, played a limited engagement at the DR2 last spring.

Press notes promise a celebration of Gustafer's favorite season, autumn, with holiday-themed performances for Halloween, Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. Taylor leads an onstage band for the production, which includes a live appearance from Gustafer himself.

Taylor and Gustafer have opened for such groups as Wilco and the Polyphonic Spree and performed at venues including Joe's Pub and Symphony Space.

Showtimes for Gustafer Yellowgold's Mellow Sensation are Saturdays at 11 AM and 1 PM. For tickets phone (212) 375-1110 or visit DR2. The DR2 is located at 103 East 15th Street in Manhattan.
