News   Guy LeMonnier Will Succeed Josh Segarra in Off-Broadway's Around the World
Guy LeMonnier will join the cast of Around the World in 80 Days, the comedic play by Mark Brown based on the Jules Verne novel, beginning Aug. 17 at The New Theater at 45th Street.

He will succeed Josh Segarra, who plays his final performance Aug. 16, in the role of Phileas Fogg.

Directed by Rachel Klein, the cast also includes Shirine Babb, Jimmy Ray Bennett, John Gregorio and Stephen Guarino. The five actors portray a total of 39 roles.

Guy LeMonnier has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and much of Europe over the past ten years; he starred in the Prince and the Pauper Off-Broadway (Miles Hendon), and his other New York and regional credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas/Pontius Pilate), Jekyll & Hyde (Jekyll/Hyde) and Dracula, the Musical (Dracula). A founding member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, he spent the majority of 2011 creating their Holiday album, "The Kings of Christmas," featuring alumni from the orchestra. He is currently recording a new solo album and preparing a national tour of The Kings of Christmas-365 Days A Year.

Around the World in 80 Days, according to press notes, is a "fun frolic and fantastic update of the visionary classic. To win a bet, Phileas Fogg, the Victorian action hero, and his acrobatic sidekick Passepartout must circle the globe and return to London inside of 80 days. Unknowingly pursued by a tireless detective convinced that Fogg is a robber on the run, the fast-minded, fleet-footed pair traverse four continents and three oceans in a white-knuckled sprint."

The production also features scenic and house design by Robert Andrew Kovach, lighting design by Ben Kato, sound design by Sean Hagerty, projection design by Katherine Freer, costume design by Kae Burke, properties design by Elena Delgado and makeup design by Jessica Jade Jacob. Tickets are now on sale through January 2014.

The New Theater at 45th Street is located at 354 West 45th Street. For tickets call (888) 885-4ATW or visit
