The centerpiece of HSF's eighth season of free outdoor productions, Taming of the Shrew: Extreme resets William Shakespeare's classic battle of the sexes into the world of a reality TV show. "Six contestants have been chosen to play a multitude of roles, telling the story through gender-bending characterizations and spontaneous transformations," a release explains. Craig George will direct the work which explores and satirizes the phenomenon. Alice M. Vienneau (Les Misérables) plays Kate opposite former San Diego Padre J. Richey Nash as Petruchio.
The show will play July 23-Aug. 15 at Theodore Roosevelt County Park then move to Agawam Park in Southampton for Aug. 20-24. Performances begin at 7:30 PM. Admission is free ($15 suggested donation).
