Ads featured in the April Playbill Magazine, now in theatres, have been specifically created to target ticket-buyers at 14 of Broadway's current shows.
Tyrone, the biblical puppet who has a mind of his own and a mostly unprintable vocabulary, has a few messages for some of Broadway's biggest stars and most-popular shows.
Among them are Helen Mirren in The Audience. Tyrone's note reads: "Helen, You can rule me all night long and twice on Wendesdays."
For The Visit, starring Broadway veteran Chita Rivera, Tyrone says: "Revenge is a dish best served cold... Or warm... Or hot... Like Chita."
Hedwig also gets a shout-out: "Why so angry?" Tyrone asks. "I'd be happy with an inch."
Tyrone's advice to the family-friendly audience over at Finding Neverland? "Don't bring the kids."
Among the other shows who get shout-outs in this go-round (a whole other slew of ads will premiere in May) are Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The King and I, Fish in the Dark, On the Twentieth Century, Fun Home, Skylight, Kinky Boots, The Book of Mormon, Something Rotten! and Wolf Hall.
