Directed by John Simpkins, the reading of Charles Antin and Ryan Cunningham's play will feature the talents of Jill Abramovitz, Stephen Bienskie, Colin Hanlon and Lisa Howard. Show time is 8 PM. Half-Married, according to press notes, follows "Soren (Colin Hanlon) and Stephanie (Lisa Howard) through the most trying time in any New York City relationship: moving in together -- and then deciding where to hang the giant stuffed boar's head. When, just before a celebratory first-night dinner, Stephanie finds out she might be pregnant, the young couple is suddenly forced to deal with an event that might change their lives forever. Throw in their dysfunctional best friends John (Stephen Bienskie) and Amanda (Jill Abramovitz), Park Slope know-it-alls when it comes to child rearing, and Soren and Stephanie might find themselves moving out before they've even moved in."

Charles Antin's writing has appeared in Alimentum, Ballyhoo Stories, Food & Wine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Rosebud and Glimmer Train; he won an award for short fiction for his work in the latter. Ryan Cunningham is the lyricist/book writer for I Love You Because, for which he received a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Lyrics.

The reading will be presented under the auspices of Paradox Productions.

Industry folk interested in attending the reading should e-mail [email protected].
