News Hantman and Gregory Discover The Importance of Being Earnest at Trinity Rep April 10 Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, featuring Mauro Hantman and Janice Duclos, begins performances at Trinity Repertory Theatre April 10.

Running through May 10 in the Chace Theatre, the cast features Mauro Hantman as Jack, Angela Brazil as Gwendolen Fairfax, Rebecca Gibel as Cecily, Karl Gregory as Algernon and Janice Duclos as Lady Bracknell with Stephen Berenson, Barbara Meek and Patrick Mulyran.

"Gwendolen loves Ernest, and so does Cecily. But wait, Cecily's intended is actually Algernon. And Gwendolen's fiancé is really Jack. So who is Ernest? In Wilde's best-loved comedy of manners, mistaken identities backfire and Lady Bracknell is not amused," according to production notes.

Beth F. Milles directs the production that has set designs by Michael McGarty, costumes by William Lane, lighting by Russell Champa and sound design by Peter Hurowitz.

Tickets to The Importance of Being Earnest at Trinity Rep, 201 Washington Street in Providence, RI, are available by calling (401) 351-4242.
