Noted playwright, actor and director Mark Harelik shares top billing with Valerie (Evita) Perri in the Musical Theatre Guild's concert performance of Nine, which will be performed one night only Aug. 16 at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Nine was adapted by Arthur Kopit from Fellini's famous film 8 1/2, with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston. Randy Brenner directed for MTG, with musical direction by Steven Smith.

Hareli plays Guido Contini, a film director based on Fellini's life. Harelik has been acting for 25 years in such works as Elmer Gantry and Arms and the Man. His 1991 play The Immigrant was widely produced around the U.S. He is the co-author of Lost Highway, a musical about the life of Hank Williams which is currently running in Nashville, produced by Grand Ol' Opry.

Perri just concluded an eight-month run of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at the Coronet Theatre in L.A. She headed the first national touring production of Evita.
