Sam and Joan Arlen, the son and daughter-in-law of the famed composer, will be part of the upcoming concert, which will also feature the talents of New York jazz singer Martha Lorin. The line-up for the 7 PM concert is also set to include Chicago favorites Stephen Rader, Mary Beidler Gearen, Jacob Hoffman, Ginger Tam, Joanie Pallatto, Susan May, Brannen Daugherty and Alanda Coon. Bobby Schiff is the musical director for Harold Arlen—The Man Behind the Curtain; Leon Joyce will be featured on percussion with Larry Gray on bass. The concert is sanctioned by the Harold Arlen Committee.

Harold Arlen, perhaps best known for his score to "The Wizard of Oz," also wrote the music for Broadway's Bloomer Girl, St. Louis Woman, House of Flowers, Jamaica and Saratoga. Some of the composer's many songs include "I've Got the World on a String," "Last Night When We Were Young," "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," "Blues in the Night," "It's Only a Paper Moon," "My Shining Hour," "What's Good About Goodbye," "If I Only Had a Brain," "Over the Rainbow" and "Stormy Weather." Sam Arlen is the late composer's son, a world-famous musician who can be heard on the CD "Arlen to Arlen: A Timeless Tribute to Harold Arlen."
