News Harold & Maude Sing at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse Beginning Jan. 5 The new musical Harold & Maude — featuring a score by Tom Jones (book and lyrics) and Joseph Thalken (music) — begins performances at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse Jan. 5.

Eric Millegan stars as the misfit Harold opposite Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons' anarchic septuagenarian Maude. Directed and choreographed by Mark S. Hoebee, Harold & Maude: The Musical also features Donna English as Mrs. Chasen, Danny Burstein as One Man and Donna Lynne Champlin as One Woman.

The musical, based on Colin Higgins' 1971 film starring Ruth Gordon and Bud Cort, concerns a 79-year-old widow who has an unlikely romance with a 19 year-old. The limited engagement plays the New Jersey theatre through Feb. 6.

The creative team for Harold & Maude comprises Rob Odorisio (set design), Miguel Huidor (costume design), John Paul Szczepanski (lighting design), Duncan Robert Edwards (sound design) and David Loud (musical director).

Estelle Parsons made her Broadway debut in Happy Hunting and was most recently on The Great White Way in Morning's at Seven. In between, she starred in Whoop-Up; Beg, Borrow or Steal; Mother Courage and Her Children; Ready When You Are, C.B.!; Malcolm; The East Wind; Galileo; The Seven Descents of Myrtle; A Way of Life; And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little; Mert & Phil; The Norman Conquests; Ladies at the Alamo; Miss Margarida's Way; The Pirates of Penzance; Shimada; and The Shadow Box. Parsons received Tony nominations for her work in Morning's at Seven, Miss Margarida's Way, And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little and The Seven Descents of Myrtle. Also a star of film and TV, Parsons garnered an Academy Award for her performance in Bonnie and Clyde.

Eric Millegan has starred on Broadway in Jesus Christ Superstar and in Hair at Encores! He recently performed at the Midtown International Theatre Festival in a new musical called Insomnia. Millegan's screen credits include "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "100 Centre Street" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." He previously played the Paper Mill as Young Fool in the 1997 mounting of Big River.
