As reported by Playbill.com on Feb. 7, 2005, the show is a small musical, featuring about six to eight actors, and using extant music from Weill. Uhry, the author of Driving Miss Daisy and other plays, worked with Prince on the musical Parade. His other librettos include the one for The Robber Bridegroom (for which he also wrote lyrics).
Prince told Variety that the casting for the show is nearly complete. He did not name any of the actors.
Weill was German-American composer of such musicals as The Threepenny Opera, Johnny Johnson, Knickerbocker Holiday, One Touch of Venus, Love Life, Street Scene and Lady in the Dark. Lenya became a primary interpreter of her husband's work, both on the stage and on recordings.
