News Harold Prince Takes Over as Emcee of Broadway Salutes Celebration Tony Award-winning director Harold Prince will step in for Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis as the master of ceremonies for the 2012 Broadway Salutes event, celebrating the professionals working on Broadway's stages and behind the scenes, which will be held Sept. 20 at the Times Square Visitors Center.

Presented by the The Broadway League and Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds, the event "recognizes the myriad of artists, technicians, and craftspeople who have made Broadway great for decades."

Marc Bruni will direct the event, which will feature musical performances by Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Bonnie & Clyde, Cinderella). Charlie Alterman will serve as musical director.

Broadway Salutes will pay tribute to the work of theatre professionals including stagehands, wardrobe workers, hair and makeup artists, theatre owners, actors, producers, playwrights, casting directors, general managers, publicists, ushers, designers, musicians, directors, choreographers and more, who have worked 25, 35, and 50 years within their crafts.

The event will begin with a meet-and-greet and pinning at 3:30 PM, followed by the ceremony at 4:30 PM. A special video montage capturing the honorees at work will be screened. It is open to the public.
