News Harry Hamlin and Alan Rachins Set for Reading of Collaboration: A Play About a Musical Screen star Harry Hamlin, last on Broadway as Billy Flynn in the Tony-winning revival of Chicago, will take part in a reading of Stephen Calmson's new play Collaboration: A Play About a Musical Sept. 21 in Halls 5 and 6 of the Plummer Park Center in West Hollywood.

Hamlin, who will play the role of director-choreographer Nathan Chernoff, will be joined by his former "LA Law" co-star Alan Rachins, who will play librettist Bernard Bergstrom. The 7:15 PM reading will also feature the talents of Leonard John Crofoot as lyricist Matthew Burns, Chris Winfield as producer Seth Kahn and Gary Holland as Bergstrom's companion, David Porter.

Suggested by a true incident, Collaboration: A Play About a Musical, press notes state, "deals with the volatile reunion of four creators of a celebrated, award-winning musical who must debate- on a sunny 1990 August Sunday in a beach house in the Hamptons - the pros and cons of allowing a proposed film remake of their classic work to move forward. During the confrontation, personal and professional matters are revealed, leading to a surprise conclusion."

The reading will be produced by Richard Stevens for Stevens Productions.
