News Hear Sara Bareilles Perform Haunting Ballad "She Used to Be Mine" from New Musical Waitress "Brave" and "Love Song" singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles is at work composing the score for the new stage musical adaptation of the 2007 Adrienne Shelly film "Waitress," which will premiere at the American Repertory Theater next season starring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller.

Mueller, who earned the 2014 Tony Award for her performance in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, will star as a woman, trapped in a job she hates, whose life changes when she discovers she is pregnant. Kerri Russell originated the role on screen.

The musical is aiming for a 2015-16 premiere at the American Repertory Theater, where Paulus is artistic director. A Broadway run would likely follow.

The Weissler's Tony-winning revival of Pippin premiered at A.R.T. prior to its acclaimed Broadway arrival. They are also attached to the A.R.T. production of The Heart of Robin Hood, which arrives on Broadway this spring at the Marquis Theatre.
