The New York premiere of the musical comedy, about a grad student who is unexpectedly cast on a reality TV dating show, was seen last summer at Second Stage Theatre.

Tony Award-winning director Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) and choreographer Kelly Devine (Rocky, Rock of Ages) will helm the two-week reading, which will feature Heath Calvert, who received a Lortel nomination for his performance at Second Stage, and his Off-Broadway co-stars Roe Hartramph (Unnatural Acts) and Autumn Hurlbert (Legally Blonde).

New to the cast are Alex Brightman (Big Fish, Wicked), Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), Emily Padgett (Rock of Ages, Flashdance), Molly Ranson (Bad Jews, Carrie) and Jarrod Spector (Beautiful, Jersey Boys).

Nobody Loves You, according to press notes, "follows a philosophy grad student who auditions for – and surprisingly finds himself cast on – a reality TV dating show, all in an attempt to win back his ex-girlfriend. But when an unexpected on-set love connection threatens to ruin his plan, manufactured drama collides with real emotion in this original new musical."

Moses (book and lyrics) is the author of Outrage, Bach At Leipzig, Celebrity Row, The Four Of Us, Yellowjackets, Back Back Back and a collection of short plays titled Love/Stories (or But You Will Get Used To It). His musical The Fortress Of Solitude, which he adapted from Jonathan Lethem's novel of the same name, had its world premiere in March at the Dallas Theater Center and will move to the Public Theater this fall, directed by Daniel Aukin with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. His play Completeness premiered at Playwrights Horizons in fall 2011, directed by Pam MacKinnon. Alter (music and lyrics) is the recipient of the 2008 American Theatre Wing Jonathan Larson Grant, and he has won awards from the San Francisco Theater Critics' Circle and the New York International Fringe Festival for his scores. Alter collaborated with Moses on the song "The Frigate That Flies" for the upcoming Disney film "Tinkerbell and The Pirate Fairy," starring Christina Hendricks. His musicals include Band Geeks!, Young Zombies In Love and The Israeli- Palestinian Conflict: A Romantic Comedy (with Negin Farsad).
