Obie award winning actress Deborah Hedwall, The Dying Gaul's Cotter Smith and Daniel Shore (R&J) will open Penguin Rep's fall reading series with a performance of Mart Crowley's Breezes from the Gulf on Oct. 12 at 8PM.

Breezes is a rarely performed play by Crowley, best known for his The Boys in the Band. The play examines the Southern writer's memories of his parents and the world that developed his art.

Other readings in Penguin Rep's series include:

Thief of Art by Pat Schneider on Nov. 9 with Anita Keel and Andrea Maulella
Soccer Moms by Kathleen Clark on Dec. 14 with Leslie Ayzazian and Geneva Carr

All readings begin at 8PM on the second Monday of the month. Admission is "pay what you will", but reservations are required. For reservations and information, call (914) 786-2873. Penguin Rep's Barn Playhouse is located on Crickettown Road in Stony Point. -- By Christine Ehren
