News Hedwig and the Angry Inch Will Stomp Over to the West End The Tony Award-winning production of John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask's Hedwig and the Angry Inch will open in the West End, Mitchell revealed on Tony Awards Sunday.

"We are definitely coming to the West End," he told the press room at the June 7 ceremony. "We are trying to get the right person."

He also mentioned the Hedwig sequel. "The sequel is still bubbling," he said. "It's going to be a little while."

Mitchell was awarded a Special Tony Award June 7; in his speech, he thanked both his parents and the late Jack Steeb, his long-term partner. Click here to read more about Mitchell's Tony Awards acceptance speech.

Hedwig features a book by Mitchell with music and lyrics by Trask.

The musical currently stars "Glee" actor Darren Criss through July 19. Taye Diggs will be the next star to put on Hedwig's high heels.
