Tony-winning composer-lyricist Jerry Herman will take the stage Saturday, Aug. 25 in Salt Lake City for a concert of songs from his shows. The event is presented by Sundance Theatre.
Numbers from Hello, Dolly!, Mame, Mack and Mabel and La Cage aux Folles will be part of Hello, Jerry! A Musical Salute to Jerry Herman. Broadway performers Jason Graae (A Grand Night for Singing), Karen Morrow (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Paige O’Hara (Les Miserables) and musical director Don Pippin will also take part in the show.
Herman and company will also be conducting a series of musical theatre workshops for actors — on auditioning, vocal interpretation and careers — on Friday, Aug. 24. Workshops are free, but space is limited and reservations are required. Participants are asked to bring sheet music.
Tickets for the concert, which is at 8 PM at the Eccles Stage at Sundance Village, are $20 to $30. For concert and workshop information, call (801) 225-4100.
