In the new Lincoln Center Theater production, Broadway vet Peter Friedman (Twelve Angry Men, Ragtime) and Oscar nominee Mare Winningham (Casa Valentina, "American Horror Story") play the parents of a high school senior who takes a year off to compose a full-scale requiem.
The cast also includes Keilly McQuail, Naian Gonzalez Norvind, Robbie Collier Sublett and Joyce Van Patten. Performances continue through March 20 at the Claire Tow Theater.
Here's how the new work is billed: "Inspired by her dedication, her father, Dean (Friedman), becomes obsessed with requiems and the people who love them, while her mother, Allison (Winningham), becomes concerned about Caitlin’s isolation from everyone aside from her music teacher. As their once-cozy Vermont home becomes a nexus for lost souls, Dean and Allison must confront the fact that their daughter’s project is destroying their family."
The Claire Tow Theater is located at 150 West 65th St., Manhattan. Visit lct.org for more information.
