News Here's to You, Anton! Gregory, Pine, Malcolm Salute Chekhov Director Andre Gregory, writer Janet Malcolm and actor Larry Pine will participate in A Tribute to Anton Chekhov at the 92nd Street Y on Nov. 8.

Russian dramatist Anton Chekhov died a century ago, leaving behind him the immortal plays The Seagull, Uncle Vanya, Three Sisters and The Cherry Orchard, as well as dozens of lauded short stories. The trio of panelists will read from his plays and short stories. Gregory and Pine worked together on Louis Malle's film "Vanya on 42nd Street." Pine went on to play Dorn in the 2001 Central Park production of The Seagull. Janet Malcolm is the author of "Reading Chekhov: A Critical Journey" a book in which "Malcolm frames a series of reflections on Chekhov's life and writings with her pilgrimage to Chekhov-related sites in Russia and the Ukraine."
