Edward Herrmann returns to the cast of A.R. Gurney's Ancestral Voices at Lincoln Center Theater on March 19. He replaces the departing James Rebhorn. The rest of the current cast remains intact, including Irene Worth (Lost in Yonkers), David Aaron Baker (Bosoms and Neglect), Maureen Anderman and Fritz Weaver (Ring Round the Moon).

The show will close for good on April 3, after a briefly interrupted run which began Sept. 19, 1999, and opened Oct. 18.

Herrmann appeared in the play in the original line-up.

Voices plays at the Newhouse Theatre on Sunday and Monday evenings -- The Time of the Cuckoo's dark nights. In Voices, five actors sit on stage and read the script (making it easy for changing casts) about a family whose lives are turned inside out when young Eddie's grandmother unexpectedly divorces his grandfather to marry the grandfather's best friend.

Feb. 6 marked three-time-Tony-winner Worth's first appearance on stage since she was forced to bow out of last spring's LCT's Broadway production of Ring Round the Moon for health reasons. Marion Seldes stepped into Worth's part and, though it was said Worth would eventually join the production, she never did. * Past casts of Voices have included Penny Fuller, George Grizzard, Brian D'arcy James, Faith Prince, John Shea, Blythe Danner, Philip Bosco, Mason Adams, Frank Converse, Mariette Hartley, Robert Sean Leonard, Anne Pitoniak and Elizabeth Wilson. The returning Baker appeared in the original cast of the play..
