Classic Arts News Hilary Hahn and Chris Thile to Appear at New York's Housing Works Bookstore Violinist Hilary Hahn and mandolinist Chris Thile will perform together at a benefit concert at the Housing Works Bookstore in New York on Tuesday, October 10 to celebrate their dual album releases.
Housing Works Bookstore is a secondhand shop whose proceeds benefit Housing Works, Inc., a minority-controlled, non-profit AIDS service organization which provides housing, healthcare, job training and advocacy for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.

Hahn, at 26 one of her generation's most respected classical musicians, will release a new Deutsche Grammophon album on October 10 featuring Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1 and Louis Spohr's Violin Concerto No. 8.

Twenty-five-year-old virtuoso mandolin player Chris Thile's new album, How to Grow a Woman from the Ground (also to be released on October 10), explores the boundaries of bluegrass.

Housing Works is located at 126 Crosby Street in Soho. Doors open at 7 pm and the performance is scheduled to begin at 7:30. Tickets are available on the Housing Works website (www.housingworks.org) for $15.
