Meant to explore the choices of human beings in extreme situations, Howard Barker's Possibilities is fraught with sex, violence and dark humor. Known for what he calls the "theatre of catastrophe," Barker penned some 27 plays, including Scenes from an Execution (1996) and The Castle (1991), both previously and successfully staged by the Public Domain.

The historic hangar once served as one of the airport's original terminal buildings. Now the venue, chosen with hopes that it will project "a ghostly sense of history sitting on the edge of the expansive field of disused and decaying runway," becomes a theatre, although seating is limited to 30 persons per performance.

Starring in The Possibilities are Monika Bustamante, Katherine Catmull, Travis Dean, Robert Fisher, Margaret Hoard, Jessica Hendrick, James Holditch, Joey Hood, Anne Hulsman, Karie Hunt, Michael Miller, Eric Peterson and Ben Wolfe.

Angela Mirabella and Zach Murphy, costume and lighting designers for Public Domain's Ashes to Ashes, return for Possibilities. Raef Schnell is the stage manager. Tickets are $12-$15. For reservations, call (512) 454-TIXS.
