Due to the extraordinary ticket demand, the international touring production of the dance revue Stomp has extended its run at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City. Originally scheduled to play Sept. 22-24, Stomp will now run Sept. 22-27.
The award-winning show is presented in Mexico by Glynis Henderson, Yes/No Productions and OCESA. The Stomp cast uses everyday objects to create unusual sounds that take audiences into an adventure of bodies and objects in movement.
The show was conceived and directed by Luke Creswell and Steve McNicholas. Stomp previewed in 1991 at London's Bloomsbury Theatre and premiered at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, where it became the "Critic´s Choice" of the Guardian, and won the Daily Express "Best of the Fringe" award. In subsequent years, Stomp played in Australia, Spain, Ireland, Italy, France, Greece and Canada among other countries. The Off-Broadway hit production of Stomp opened in February 1994 at the Orpheum Theatre where it´s still playing.
Stomp will play Sept. 22-26 at 8:30 PM and Sept. 27 at 8 PM. Tickets ($90-$350 Mexican Pesos) are available through Ticketmaster Mexico at (5) 325-9000.
