News Hobson, Fitzgerald and Monro to Star in Mamma Mia! International Tour Complete casting has been announced for the international tour of Mamma Mia!, which will kick off Sept. 4 at Dublin's The Point Theatre.

Heading the cast of the ABBA musical is Helen Hobson — of Heathcliff and Blood Brothers fame — as Donna Sheridan. She will be joined onstage by Geraldine Fitzgerald as Tanya, Joanna Monro as Rosie and Emily Dykes as Sophie. The cast also includes Cameron Blakely (Sam Carmichael), John Langley (Harry Bright), Ulrich Wiggers (Bill Austin) and Michael Xavier (Sky).

The chorus comprises Craig Adams, Shyko Amos, Louise Bowden, Andrew Bowness, Catherine Digges, Aileen Donohoe, Craige Els, Tim English, Kenneth Farrelly, Rachel Grimshaw, Kaisa Hammarlund, Ben Harlow, Adam Hills, Debbie Jenkins, Steven Paling, Soeli Parry, Wendy-Lee Purdy, Jodie Read, Thomas Sherlock, Alain Terlozi, Barnaby Thompson, Jayde Westaby and Mark Willshire.

Mamma Mia! will play The Point through Nov. 6 before heading to The Edinburgh Playhouse, Nov. 12-Jan. 29, 2005.

About the upcoming international tour, Mamma Mia! producer Judy Cramer said in a statement, "I am thrilled that the international tour of Mamma Mia! will debut in Dublin. This will be the first time that the show will have been seen in Ireland and, as 11 of the songs featured in the show were number one hits there, we hope the omens are good!"

Mamma Mia! features music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, a book by Catherine Johnson, direction by Phyllida Lloyd and choreography by Anthony Van Laast. The musical continues to play Broadway's Winter Garden, where it celebrated its 1,000th performance March 4.
