The Young Vic is currently staging Harold Brighouse's classic comedy Hobson's Choice. Tanika Gupta's new version of the play (directed by Richard Jones) has updated the action from Victorian Britain to the modern day, and set it among the Asian community.
The play was set to close on August 9 but will now be running to August 16. Under Artistic Director David Lan, the Young Vic has a reputation as one of the most imaginatively programmed theatres in London. Hobson's Choice offers audiences an entertaining update of a much-loved play, which was last seen in the West End some eight years ago in a production starring Leo McKern and Nichola McAuliffe.
