News Hollywood Will Not Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Kotter; World-Premiere Production Canceled Jaw Entertainment has announced that the world premiere of Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Kotter, a new play based on the hit television situation comedy of the same name, has been canceled.

The limited engagement, directed by Justin Wade, was to begin performances Sept. 28, prior to an official opening Oct. 1, at the Lillian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The run was scheduled through Oct. 29. No details have been announced regarding the production's cancellation.

Here's how the production was billed: "Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Kotter is a world premiere comedy that features three of the original episodes of one of the most beloved and most popular sitcoms of the 1970’s, performed live on stage! Different episodes will vary from week to week so audiences can be 'welcomed back' to relive more of their favorite Mr. Kotter memories is this hysterical blast-from-the-past featuring all your favorite 'Kotter' characters: Arnold Horshack, Juan Epstein, Freddy 'Boom Boom' Washington and Vinnie Barbarino."

Members of the cast were to include Scott Vinci (Mr. Gabe Kotter), Michael Silva (Arnold Horshack), Corey Curties (Freddy "Boom Boom" Washington), David Michie (Juan Epstein), Justin Wade (Vinnie Barbarino), Marta McGonagle (Julie Kotter), Danitha Bockoven (Judy Borden), Niketa Calame (Vernajean Williams), Blas Lorenzo (Warm Up Comic), Susan Spano (Rosalie "Hotsy" Totsy), Tristan Wright (Oliver Niles) and Walter Hyman (Vice-principal Woodman).

Members of the creative team included set designer Duncan Reed, lighting designer Matt Richter and costume designer Maria Sparagna.
