With a sellout final weekend, the Aurora Theatre Company's production of The Homecoming, Harold Pinter's Tony Award winning dark comedy, will close May 7 at the Berkeley City Club. Previews began March 31 for an opening April 6. Company managing director Tom Ross directs the show. The Homecoming opens in normality with philosophy professor Teddy bringing his new wife, Ruth, home to meet his all-male family -- his father and two younger brothers. They mistake her for a whore, however, setting off a battle for control. Pinter's other works include The Caretaker, The Dumb Waiter and Ashes to Ashes.
Berkeley Repertory Theatre associate artist James Carpenter stars as Teddy with Rebecca Dines (TheatreWorks' As Bees in Honey Drown, Mrs. Klein) as his wife. Also in the cast are Drama-Logue winner Jack Aranson (Max), Jonathan Rhys Williams (Lenny), Chris Ayles (Sam) and Chad Fisk (Joey).
Tickets are $28-$25. The Berkeley City Club is located at 2315 Durant Avenue. For reservations, call (510) 843 4822.
