A veteran of many New York and regional productions over the years, Houdyshell is reprising her role in Well on Broadway. Previews begin March 10 at the Longacre Theatre. It marks Houdyshell's Broadway debut.

Houdyshell also won an Obie Award for Well, which world-premiered at The Public Theater in 2004. She plays Ann Kron, the lethargic, lumpy mother of writer-actress Lisa Kron in the "meta-theatrical" work in which Lisa attempts to tell a slice of her life story — and the story is sabotaged by mom and other supporting players.

Well opens on March 30, with Kron again playing herself.
