Classic Arts News Houston Ballet Announces Appointments and Promotions The Houston Ballet has promoted four dancers and named seven new company members, the company announced.
Amy Fote, a former Milwaukee Ballet principal, will join Houston Ballet as a first soloist. Melody Herrera, a member of the corps de ballet, has been promoted to soloist, and corps members Oliver Halkowich, Lisa Kaczmarek, and Ricardo Rorres have been named demi-soloists.

Robert Arnold, previously a performer with the Estonia National Opera, has joined the corps de ballet. Jessica Collado, Chris Coomer, Lauren Majewski, and Katharine Precourt, all former apprentices with Houston Ballet, have also joined the corps.

Four graduates of the Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy —Peter Franc, Jennifer Ham, McGee Maddox, and Jessica Tretter—have been named apprentices, as has Andrew Brader, a former student at the Harid Conservatory and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre.

Soloist Susan Byrant has retired after two decades with Houston Ballet. Other dancers who have left the company include soloist Britain Werkheiser and corps de ballet members Peter Gleeson, Firat Kazbek ‹zsoy, Charles Pregger, and Richard Tullius.
