On today’s episode of Playbill’s The Tyler Mount Vlog Mount invites Hamilton star Mandy Gonzalez for a chat, a game, and to answer questions from fans. Watch the video to see Gonzalez try her hand at some freestyle rapping and to find out what her first job out of college was (hint: it wasn’t on Broadway).
Gonzalez currently stars as Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway production of Hamilton, which she joined September 6, 2016. It was a homecoming of sorts for the actor, who was reunited with many of her original In the Heights collaborators. Gonzalez created the role of Nina Rosario in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights, which also played at the Richard Rodgers Theatre from 2008-2011.
Before joining Hamilton, the Drama Desk and Obie-winning actor also starred as Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked. Scroll through photos below.
