How You Can Join Something Rotten! Star on Broadway Bikes Fundraiser | Playbill

News How You Can Join Something Rotten! Star on Broadway Bikes Fundraiser Something Rotten! leading lady Heidi Blickenstaff and her husband Nicholas Rohlfing are organizing a Broadway Bikes fundraising event Oct. 4 in New York City, to benefit Bike MS: New York 2015, a charity that fights multiple sclerosis.

Anyone 12 and older can take part. Blickenstaff and Rohlfing (and their kids) have ridden in the event for several years now, but this year, for the first time, they are organizing a team of Broadway actors, writers, musicians — and just plain fans — to enter and ride together.

Bike MS has three route options: 30, 55, or 100 miles, but Broadway Bikes will be sticking to the 30-mile ride, which takes bikers around Manhattan island.

The Broadway Bikes team will roll out promptly at 7:30 AM Sunday, Oct. 4 on Twelfth Avenue (the West Side Highway) and West 46th Street, five blocks west of the Broadway theatre district. The circular route ends at 711 Twelfth Avenue (pier 92/24 at West 52nd Street).

There is a $50 registration fee (through Sept. 10; will increase to $75 on Sept. 11 and $100 on Oct. 3), with a fundraising minimum of $200. Click here for more information, and to sign up (or support your favorite rider with a donation). Click on the "Join Our Team" button on the Bike MS website and use the case-sensitive discount code "broadway" to receive a $10 discount off the registration fee.

According the Bike MS website, "For every dollar raised, more than 75 cents is spent on research, and programs and services for people living with MS and their families living in the five boroughs and Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties."
