News Hugh Jackman… One Night Only Brings in Nearly $2 Million for MPTF Tony winner Hugh Jackman, an Academy Award nominee for his performance in the international hit movie musical "Les Miserables," performed a special evening Oct. 12 at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to benefit MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund).

Entitled Hugh Jackman… One Night Only, the evening raised $1.85 million for the Motion Picture & Television Fund, according to Deadline.com. The starry audience included Tom Cruise as well as Jeffrey Katzenberg and Universal's Donna Langley.

Jackman, Deadline.com reports, performed songs from The Boy from Oz, Guys and Dolls, Carousel and "Les Miserables." The stage and screen star is reportedly set to play P.T. Barnum in an upcoming original film musical.

"It is an honor to bring our show to Los Angeles. We have a very special evening planned for you that will raise money and awareness for MPTF, a cause very close to my heart," Jackman said in an earlier statement.

Jackman received a Special Tony Award in 2012 and took home the Tony in 2004 for his performance in The Boy From Oz. He has also been seen on Broadway in A Steady Rain and his solo show Back on Broadway.
