Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, who recently garnered a string of awards at the Sundance Film Festival for his breakout feature "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl," is attached to the new film.

Set in a New York ad agency, "Collateral Beauty" follows a man who spirals into a deep depression following a tragedy. The screenplay is written by Allan Loeb ("21" and "Just Go with It").

The project would reunite Jackman and Mara following their recent wrap-up of "Pan," about the origins of Peter Pan, scheduled for release in U.S. theatres Oct. 9. Jackman, who was last seen on Broadway in The River, just finished shooting "Eddie the Eagle." Also known for his stage work, Jackman is a 2004 Tony winner for The Boy from Oz.

Following his winning of both the grand prize and audience award at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, Gomez-Rejon, whose directing background is in television ("Glee" and "American Horror Story"), is said to have fallen in love with the script of "Collateral Beauty." Further casting and distributing rights have not yet been announced.
