Brooke Berman, the playwright and filmmaker known for her 2008 breakout play Hunting and Gathering, sits down with host Leah Walsh for episode 119 of The Compass.
Berman opens up about her mentors and her experience studying playwriting at Juilliard. She also speaks about writing for theatre and the ever-changing landscape of writing for television.
Other fun facts Berman reveals: Her high school threatre mentor was Joyce Piven, mother of Jeremy and Shira Piven. The program also claims Sarah Ruhl, Lily Taylor, and the Cusacks among its alumni.
