The Power of Duff, which received a developmental staging last summer as part of New York Stage and Film at Vassar College, will be helmed by Peter DuBois, who also directed the Vassar run. The production will take place Oct. 11-Nov. 9.

Here's how it's billed: "When burnt-out local TV newscaster Charlie Duff suddenly begins offering a prayer at the end of his nightly broadcasts, he instantly becomes a popular and controversial figure to an expanding audience. But even as his prayers inspire millions, Charlie struggles with his own beliefs and his inability to connect with his estranged son."

Tony Award nominee Maria Aitken will stage Gurney's comedy The Cocktail Hour, running Nov. 15-Dec. 15. According to the Huntington, "The pre-dinner cocktail is a revered ritual in John's parents' elegant home, but when he returns to announce that he has written a play about them, their calm demeanor dissolves. As the martinis flow, so do the revelations and recriminations, both funny and poignant, in this heartfelt comedy about the ties that bind."

Also announced is the sexually charged Ives' play Venus in Fur. Daniel Goldstein (Godspell) will stage the production that runs Jan. 3-Feb. 2, 2014. The Tony-nominated play centers on a playwright and the mysterious woman who arrives to audition for the leading role.
