News Hurt Reunites with Close for Second Season of "Damages" Academy Award winner William Hurt will join Tony-winning actress Glenn Close for the second season of the FX television legal drama "Damages."

Close stars as powerful litigator Patty Hewes in the legal thriller that airs on the FX network. Hurt, who co-starred with Close in "The Big Chill," has signed on as one of Hewes' clients for the second season.

According to the Hollywood reporter, the FX series will begin filming June 24, aiming for an early 2009 airdate. Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman created "Damages," which made its cable premiere July 24, 2007.

Among the theatre actors who appear on the series are Rose Byrne, Tate Donovan and Zeljko Ivanek, as well as guest stars including Tom Aldredge, Natalie Venetia Belcon, Philip Bosco, Peter Riegert, David Costabile, Maya Days, Michael Gaston, Kevin Isola, Michael Nouri, Saundra Santiago and Miriam Shor.

Hurt was nominated for a 1985 Tony Award for Hurlyburly. He has appeared on stage in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ivanov, The Runner Stumbles, Hamlet and Henry V. He earned a 1985 Academy Award for the film of "Kiss of the Spider Woman," and earned Oscar nominations for his roles in "Children of a Lesser God," "Broadcast News" and "A History of Violence." His extensive film credits also include "Into the Wild," "The Big Chill," "The Good Shepherd" and "The Village."

Glenn Close earned Tony Awards for her work in The Real Thing, Death and the Maiden and Sunset Boulevard. Close's stage credits also include her Tony-nominated performance in Barnum as well as Rex, The Member of the Wedding, The Crucifier of Blood and Benefactors. Her film appearances include "The Big Chill," "Fatal Attraction," "The Natural," "The World According to Garp," "Dangerous Liaisons," "Mars Attacks" and "Reversal of Fortune."
