Calvin Gooding, the husband of Broadway star LaChanze, is among the more than 5,000 missing in the Sept. 11 terrorist destruction of the World Trade Center, The New York Times reported.

Gooding, 38, and LaChanze were married in 1998. He is a financial trader. The have one child, Celia Rose, and LaChanze is expecting their second child in October, according to The Times.

The paper reported that Gooding had a crush on the actress since he saw her picture on the wall of his barbershop. He introduced himself to the actress at a nightclub sometime later and something clicked. They married two years later.

LaChanze is best-known for playing the love-struck Ti Moune in the Broadway musical, Once on This Island (memorably singing about "waiting for life to begin") and later playing Marta in Roundabout Theatre Company's Company and then Sarah in the touring and Broadway companies of Ragtime. Last season she starred in the Off-Broadway musical The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin.
