PlayBlog Idina Menzel Defies Gravity for Love at the White House (Video) Tony Award winner Idina Menzel was one of the many exceptional performers who appeared in the Oct. 20 PBS special "A Broadway Celebration: In Performance at the White House." But she not only got to sing one of her signature numbers – "Defying Gravity," from Wicked - she also got to perform "What I Did for Love" from A Chorus Line accompanied by the song's composer, Marvin Hamlisch. Both performances can be seen below.


The concert, which took place in the White House's East Room for an audience including the Obamas, also featured Nathan Lane (who hosted and performed), Audra McDonald, Elaine Stritch, Brian d'Arcy James, Karen Olivo, Chad Kimball, Tonya Pinkins, Constantine Rousouli, Danielle Arci and more.
