News Idina Menzel to Play Week at West End's Apollo Theatre and U.K. Regional Dates Idina Menzel, who previously appeared in London in a one-night solo concert at the Royal Albert Hall, is returning to play a full week's run at the West End's Apollo Theatre, running Oct. 8-14, followed by two regional dates at Edinburgh's Usher Hall (Oct. 16) and Manchester's Palace Theatre (Oct. 17).

She will be backed by a 25-piece onstage orchestra. According to press materials, the Tony winner will sing songs from her "diverse musical theatre and pop music repertoire, including a few personal favourites and some exciting new material."

Menzel won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for originating the role of Ephaba in Wicked, which she subsequently reprised for the show's West End opening at the Apollo Victoria. She was also Tony-nominated before that for her Broadway debut performance as Maureen in the original production of Rent, which she also reprised in the film version.

She has also appeared on Broadway in Aida. Other New York theatre credits include The Wild Party (Manhattan Theatre Club), See What I Wanna See (Public Theatre), Sheila in Hair (Encores!) and The Vagina Monologues.

On TV, she has a recurring guest starring role on "Glee," in which she plays Rachel Berry's mother, who is the coach of rival Glee club Vocal Adrenaline. Film credits include Disney's "Enchanted" and "Ask the Dusk."
