News If/Then Vocal Selections to Be Released in August The vocal selections from If/Then, the new musical by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal writers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, which stars Tony winner Idina Menzel, will be published the week of Aug. 18 by Hal Leonard.

Songs included in the vocal selections are "Always Starting Over," "Best Worst Mistake," "Here I Go," "Hey, Kid," "It's a Sign," "Love While You Can," "Some Other Me," "What the Fuck," "What Would You Do?," "You Don't Need to Love Me," "You Learn to Live Without" and "You Never Know." The book will be priced $16.99.

If/Then has music by Kitt, with book and lyrics by Yorkey. The writers earned the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize for penning Next to Normal. If/Then earned Tony Award nominations for Best Original Score and Best Actress (Menzel).

Michael Greif directed the production that began previews March 5 and opened March 30 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. It is produced by David Stone (Wicked, Next to Normal).

The original Broadway cast album was released in June.

According to the creators, "If/Then is a contemporary new musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth’s life splits into two parallel paths.
