The IFC Center in the West Village will present a Company-inspired double feature in February, featuring an actual documentary and a parody of said documentary.

The February 19 event, part of the Center’s Winter 2019 season of its “Pure Nonfiction” series, will start with the 1970 doc Original Cast Album: Company, which follows the high-energy and arduous 18-hour studio recording session of the Stephen Sondheim musical. Following the hour-long film, IFC will offer a sneak peek screening of the upcoming Documentary Now! episode, Original Cast Album: Co-op.

The parody is part of the upcoming third season of the IFC parody series, co-created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers, and Rhys Thomas. Featured in the half-hour episode are John Mulaney, Taran Killam, James Urbaniak, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Alex Brightman, Richard Kind, and Paula Pell.

D.A. Pennebaker, director of the original documentary, Mulaney, Meyers, and executive producer and director Alex Buono will be on hand to take part in a Q&A session, with additional special guests to be announced. For tickets and more information, visit IFCCenter.com.
