Apple Tree Theatre in Highland Park, IL, presents The Heiress, by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, based on the novel Washington Square by Henry James. The 1995 Tony Award-winner for Best Revival, The Heiress will run at Apple Tree Feb. 9-Mar. 9. Set in New York City in the 1850's, a young plain woman is betrayed by her father and her fortune hunting suitor, and forced to face life alone.
Apple Tree's Heiress will star Susan Moniz in the part of Catherine, for which Cherry Jones won the Tony Award. The production is directed by Apple Tree artistic director Eileen Bovers.
