I’m Not a Comedian…I’m Lenny Bruce, which chronicles the comedy, alleged obscenity, and untimely death of the comic legend, has extended its run through June 1 at The Box.

Written by and starring Ronnie Marmo, the solo play premiered at the Cutting Room November 4, 2018 and ended its extended run January 25.

The production now features actor burlesque artist Pearls Daily.

There will be a special performance April 24.

Marmo chronicles the life, death, and legacy of the controversial comedian. Accused of obscenity in his acts, Bruce fought for freedom of speech all the way to the Supreme Court. He accidentally died of an overdose in 1966 while out on appeal.

Tony Award winner Joe Mantegna directs. Performances take place Thursdays through Saturdays. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Lenny Bruce Memorial Foundation.
