News Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson and Lesley Manville Join Angelina Jolie in Disney's "Maleficent" West End actresses Imelda Staunton, who currently stars in the London revival of Sweeney Todd, Miranda Richardson (A Lie of the Mind) and Lesley Manville (Six Degrees of Separation) have joined the cast of Disney's "Maleficent," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Robert Stromberg, the live-action retelling of "Sleeping Beauty" also features Oscar winner Angelina Jolie ("Girl, Interrupted"), Elle Fanning ("Super 8"), Sharlto Copley ("District 9"), Kenneth Cranham ("Made in Dagenham") and Sam Riley ("Brighton Rock").

Jolie will star as the title character in the film, which tells the "Sleeping Beauty" fairy tale from the witch's point-of-view.

Staunton and Manville have been cast as pixies Knotgrass and Flittle, respectively, who take care of Aurora (Fanning); Richardson will play Queen Ulla, a fairy queen who is Maleficent's aunt.
