Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains will transport audiences into the Austrian Alps this fall in a new site-specific production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical The Sound of Music, which will run September 5–29 at Wintergreen Resort.

Brian Clowdus, the ambitious artistic director of Georgia’s Serenbe Playhouse, who has become known for his large-scale, outdoor productions, conceives and directs the production that will carry audiences on a ski lift into a remote, mountaintop location where the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical will unfold.
