A "Mecca for poets" is perhaps the best way to describe the Eighth International Poetry Festival, which will be held in Medellin, Colombia, from June 12-21, 1998. More than 200 poets from 40 countries are expected to participate in the 10-day event.
"This avalanche of poets and public has no parallel in Europe," said French poet Claude Esteban of last year's festival.
