News Irena's Vow Opening-Night Tix to Benefit Actors Fund The producers of Irena's Vow have donated a limited number of tickets for the March 29 opening-night performance to benefit the Actors Fund.

The opening-night performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre begins at 6:30 PM. Irena's Vow, according to press notes, "is the uplifting true story about one of the most courageous and unsung heroines of World War II. During the German occupation of Poland, Irena Gut Opdyke (Feldshuh), a Polish Catholic, was forced to work as head housekeeper for a very prominent Nazi major. Over a two year period of service, Irena would risk her own life in order to save the lives of twelve Jewish refugees whom she secretly took under her care. Irena's Vow is the extraordinary story of one woman's choice and the twelve lives that would ultimately be saved – or lost - by her decision." Tovah Feldshuh stars.

The Actors Fund, which was founded in 1882, is a non-profit organization that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals. Some of the many programs The Actors Fund provides include a nursing home and assisted living care facility; senior and disabled programs; mental health services; chemical dependency services; entertainment industry assistance programs; the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative; the AIDS Initiative; and supportive housing on both coasts.
