News Irish Lass Sings of Broadway Dreams in So Far at NYC's Hideaway Room Maxine Linehan's cabaret evening, So Far, charting her course from life in Ireland to Broadway dreams, with some corporate work in between, returns to Helen's in Chelsea Oct. 5.

Kelly McGee directs, with musical direction and arrangements by Gerald Stockstill. The show played earlier this year at the Hideaway Room at Helen's. "If the red hair and freckles aren't a dead giveaway, let it be known that Maxine Linehan is in fact Irish," according to production notes. "So Far is the tale of Maxine's journey from the little Irish village of Crosshaven (population: 5), to a high-powered executive career in Manhattan (population: well, more than Crosshaven) where she eventually tosses it all in to become another penniless actress pursuing a career on the Great White Way!"

The mix of pop songs and theatre music promises to be "as entertaining as it is touching without being another self-absorbed, one-woman show..."

Performances play 7 PM at the Hideaway Room at Helen's Oct. 5, 12 and 19, on Eighth Avenue between 18th and 19th Street. Visit www.helensnyc.com.
