The Irondale Ensemble Project will present a dark new interpretation of J.M. Barrie's play Peter Pan at the Theatre for a New City, running Nov. 20-Dec. 22.

The play was originally conceived as a mature look at the desolation of adulthood, growing up and not growing up at the same time. According to a press release, "Irondale's Peter Pan is performed in an atmosphere more comparable to Golding's "Lord of the Flies" than the often cartoonish depiction of Barrie's Neverland."

Starring Daniel Bacher, Josh Bacher, Rezeile Caravaca, Michael-David Gordon, Melissa Jayme, Jack Lush, Sven Miller, Patrena Murray and Damen Scranton, the production is directed by Jim Nieson, with original music by Walter Thompson, choreography by Sarah Adams, costume design by Christianne Myers, lighting by Randy Glickman and scenic design by Ken Rothchild.

The Irondale Ensemble Project's mission is to create theatre that is a strong voice for social change, and is characterized by a deep commitment to artistic excellence.

Thursday performances are "Pay-What-You Wish" with discussions afterwards with the cast.
