The recent London revival of Gypsy, starring Imelda Staunton as the world's most famous stage mother, Rose, may be heading to Broadway, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A spokeswoman for producers Michael Harrison and David Ian told the Journal that discussions are currently underway about staging the revival on Broadway. No other details were reported.

Staunton, who performed "Everything’s Coming Up Roses" at the recent Olivier Awards, won the Best Actress in a Musical Olivier for her work as Rose. The production also earned three other Oliviers: Best Musical Revival, the White Light Award for Best Lighting Design and Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Lara Pulver.

Gypsy ran at London's Savoy Theatre March 28 to November 28, 2015.

The Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents musical was last seen on Broadway in 2008 starring Patti LuPone, Boyd Gaines and Laura Benanti, who all won Tony Awards for their performances. Other Broadway Roses include Ethel Merman, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly and Bernadette Peters.
